 East African Adventure Tour

I travelled through parts of Africa in 1991 for 3 months, 6 weeks with a reasonable sized tour company and 7 weeks hitchhiking with a friend. I loved Africa more than any other country I had been to. So when I heard about Little Africa Tour Company and what they were planning, I instantly thought how I would love to go back and visit. I have to say that was the best decision. This trip was totally different to my first one. From day 1 to the last day which was a stop over in Qatar, Patti and Susie had something special planned. It was personal, emotional, both heart wrenching and heart warming. We went to places where larger tour companies would never have access to and met the most amazing and inspirational people over there and apart from all of that, we saw every animal there was to see.
I cannot explain in a few words the experience I had, but I can honestly say it was equal to none. If you want an authentic, personal, life changing experience, then these ladies are the ones you want to go with. Thanks Patti and Susie.

I

If you are looking for an up close and very personal experience in East Africa, beautiful people, amazing landscape and wildlife, then a trip with Little Africa Tour Company is what you are looking for. We spent three wonderful weeks on the most amazing trip of our lives. Little Africa Tour Company is the only way to see East Africa. Our trip was so well organised by the two most amazing women. Susie and Patti had thought of every little detail, right down to 6 very like minded travellers.I will definitely be going again!Africa is the most amazing place. The people are beautiful and caring and the friendliest people you could ever meet. The communities in the villages we stayed in were honoured that we came to see how they live. We joined in with their everyday lives and felt truly blessed and privileged to be welcomed into their homes and communities. To see them so happy and wanting to share everything they had, when they have so little themselves, was so humbling. The safari on the Serengeti was incredible. We were so close to the animals in their natural environment, we felt like we could reach out and touch them without any impact on them, they simply got on with life as we watched in awe and amazement.I loved this trip so much it was very hard to come home. 💖💖😍😍 Asante Sana (thank you very much) Susie and Patti. 😍😍

From a very young age I've always dreamt of visiting Africa. To be able to see the real Africa, the people, the wildlife and to drink in the beauty of the landscape. It was the one thing in life I wanted the most but not having travelled overseas before and being on my own I wasn't confident I could ever achieve my dream.
That all changed when I heard about Little Africa Tour Company and especially after meeting Susie and Patti.. With the tour consisting of only 6 women and having the opportunity to link up beforehand (face to face and via skype) I was put at ease knowing I was going to be in great company. Susie and Patti organised an amazing tour from staying in remote villages, something you cannot do without the connections they have, to the most incredible wildlife encounters. I don't believe you would get these intimate experiences with a bigger company.
The drivers and guides that Little Africa Tour Company use are so knowledgeable and go out of their way to make sure everyone has the best experience possible.
Not only did I have the holiday of a lifetime, I have come home with lifelong friends.
If you want an adventure with amazing people but don't know where to start this trip is for YOU!!
Contact Little Africa Tour Company and let them do all the hard work while you sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT & WILL BOOK AGAIN!
Thanks so much Susie and Patti for changing my life for the better!

***We are happy to say Tanya did book with us

again and had just as many life changing

moments as she did the first time***

I like to think of myself as someone who experiences different cultures and travels to new places. This trip took it to another level. I really had no idea what I was in for when I travelled to Africa with Susie and Patti from Little Africa Tour Company.I have wanted to travel to Africa for the past 10 years, however I did not want to experience Africa with a large commercial Tour Company so I always put it in the back of my mind as a place I’ll go to one day. I’m so so glad I waited. This small business really does stand out from the rest. Over the years, Susie and Patti have made very close connections with the people from Africa which gave us the most authentic and special experience I could ever imagine. The passion of these two women for Africa and their desire to share their experiences, is what makes it so special. With the benefit of only having 6 people in the travel group, we were all able to have an up close and personal experience where no one missed out on anything. I think I’m independent whilst travelling, but this is one place I definitely needed the help, guidance and personalised care and understanding from both Susie and Patti. Sometimes it was confronting, sometimes overwhelming and sometimes I simply had no idea what I was doing due to the language barrier, but they were always there to help and simply excelled in giving me the trip of a lifetime. This was an extremely well-planned trip, with all the final touches being thought about. Looking back there is nothing I would change. I have spoken to friends who have also travelled to Africa and they couldn’t believe the things we were able to do. We even went into villages where many people haven’t seen white people, I think this speaks volumes of the kind of experiences you can expect. If you want a real and authentic experience of the African people and culture, (personally I think this is why we are all drawn to Africa) then I suggest you contact Susie and Patti. Please don’t wait, it’s the best thing you’ll ever do!

I had the pleasure of joining the Little Africa Tour Company on December 29th, 2018 for their East Africa Tour and l am so glad that l chose this Company for my first African adventure.
I was surrounded by like-minded women and trusted drivers. We had two wonderful, kind, caring and humorous guides in Susie and Patti who went out of their way to ensure our small group were comfortable.   We were provided with a thoughtful and well-planned itinerary that gave us a wonderful sense of East Africa.
The local connections that Susie and Patti have forged saw us welcomed with open arms into the local communities in Uganda – These amazing people with so little to give, gave us a welcoming l will never forget.  We received an insight into the people that l doubt we would have received if it wasn’t for these connections that the Little Africa Tour Company has made.  Those of us that chose to include the Gorilla trek in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest were richly rewarded -  We got to observe the Gorilla families (with their young) in their natural habitat – such a special memory.
Each day was an adventure – l loved that we didn’t know the full itinerary for the day – meal times were pleasant surprises, we ate at beautiful restaurants, in community centres, at picnic places and around the camp table – The food was delicious and plentiful and I loved the variety of accommodation!
To finish off - we had the safari in Tanzania- Oh WOW - with amazingly close encounters with the wild animals –.  The hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti plains was a beautiful experience.
I can best describe my experience with the Little Africa Tour Company as all kinds of wonderful – and I would thoroughly recommend any woman of any age that is still fully mobile and wants to travel to Africa – to take a look through the eyes of this Tour Company – they will give you an experience of a life time.

Thank you, Susie and Patti of Little Africa Tour Company

Mambo,
For me, my trip to East Africa with Little Africa Tour Company, was one of the most remarkable experiences I have ever had.  It is sometimes hard to put into words just how it made me feel. I really had absolutely no idea what to expect but was excited at the prospect of visiting places that were vastly different to anywhere I had ever been.
Upon arrival, I remember feeling an overwhelming sense of excitement and wondering. I smiled the whole drive along to our first night’s accommodation. It was a different world here… and I loved it immediately.
There were so many wonderful memories that I made and will keep with me always. I will never forget arriving at Future Generation school in Uganda and being given the most incredibly warm welcome from all of the students, staff and community. I had the pleasure of meeting my sponsor child and many other beautiful kids that showered us with love. Their happy energy and affectionate nature was so genuine and made us all feel so at home. We danced and sang and enjoyed their musical talents. I even got to teach a mini lesson to a junior class…the most attentive students I have ever taught 😛
I was fortunate enough to tick off some spectacular bucket list items; from gorilla trekking to going on safari and being up close and personal with so many of my favourite animals.  Pictures just don’t do justice! Each day I told myself ‘today won’t top yesterday’ and sure enough something would happen that would exceed my expectations.
I made some wonderful friends, enjoyed many laughs and experienced many different emotions. Tears of joy, tears of happiness and just an overall sense of gratitude. I am so thankful I was able to visit Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda & Tanzania and see just how beautiful a place like Africa is.
This adventure had everything and more to offer; it’s all thanks to the amazing two women behind this tour company. Susie and Patti, thanks for giving me the trip that tugged on the heart strings, showed me perspective and gave me an overwhelming sense of happiness and appreciation.
A must do travel destination!
I will be back!

My 2019 trip with Little Africa Tour Company was way beyond my expectations. A combination of all the right ingredients made this a most remarkable adventure: a small group of likeminded women; breathtaking sites; encountering the unique African animals (including a trek with the gorillas); and the beautiful big welcoming smiles we received along the way.
The leadership, care and direction provided by Susie and Patti was impeccable, which gave me the strength to open myself up to every experience along the three week journey. Each day we welcomed a new and exciting experience and just when you thought you’d seen it all, along came something else to astound you.
Meeting our sponsor child at Future Generation Nursery and Primary School (Kabale District) was a highlight of the trip. The most incredible welcome by Joseline , the community and students will be etched in my memory forever.
I can’t thank Patti and Susie enough for opening my eyes and heart to this amazing part of the world. The trip has lit a fire deep within me, to go forward and make a difference no matter where I am or what I do. I have washed off the dust, but my heart will always hold a special place for Africa.
If you are considering doing this trip, I could not recommend it more highly.

Susie & Patti,
Thank you for enabling me the mind blowing opportunity to experience with you both & the other gals, our recent East African adventure.

I am truly grateful for your inclusive and very individual caring nature of support.
One highlight of the tour was seeing the gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda.

Other experiences which touched my heart....and thankyou both for including these in our itinerary..... were the distribution of Days For Girls kits to women and girls in rural villages and my experience of sitting with and assisting the women with their sewing skills.

The community & school visits, seeing the sights, smiles of happiness & gratitude and the wildlife in the Serengeti.
A diverse trip which provided surprises every day, under a safe, professional and experienced umbrella.

Thank you again Susie & Patti !

What an incredible trip of a lifetime ! I was amazed, thrilled, excited, humbled, and changed forever. Never have I seen a country in its raw and natural form as this tour showed. To climb the jungles of Uganda and sit with wild gorillas, to stand in the middle of the great migration of millions of wild African animals in Tanzania and watch a cheetah chase and kill a gazelle to feed her 2 cubs, to getting a warm sleepy cuddle by an orphaned elephant in the Nairobi elephant orphanage as he went to bed for the night. And above all, the experience and absolute privilege of being immersed in the highs, and lows of day to day African life and meeting wonderful people that welcomed us into their villages and showed us what life in Africa is like. It wasn't a tour, it was a life changing experience that introduced us to the most incredible people I've ever met.... I will never forget it .... and dearly hope to get back soon ❤

On the 29th December 2019, 6 women’s normal lives stood still as we boarded a plane to Africa, where we would be changed forever. Little Africa Tour Company provided an itinerary that took us through four East African countries with humbling, challenging, exciting, funny adventures and as a group at times we ventured outside our comfort zone. Each day we would wake wondering where Patti and Susie would take us, with surprises every step of the way. Thank you girls for immersing us so deeply in your beautiful Africa.🦁

I have recently been very fortunate to be a part of a unique experience with Little Africa Tour Company, traveling for three weeks through Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. Susie and Patti's personal connections with local communities gave us a grass roots insight into the culture, school and village life of these beautiful people. Certainly an aspect that would not be a part of a generic tour company.

The  experience on safari through Tanzania was truly surreal. If ever you have wanted to be a part of your own David Attenborough doco and witness African wildlife up close, here's an opportunity to do so. One week of being immersed within the grand landscape of the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, just to name a few and to top it off to drive through the great migration. All this and a trek into the jungle to be up close with mountain gorillas!

Little Africa Tour Company provides an intimate and very safe insight into African life. This tour comes highly recommended. Make  a commitment to do something for yourself and be prepared to experience a whole range of emotions. You will leave this continent with a different look at life and human resilience.

Just need to say a BIG THANK YOU! This trip was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I can’t stop talking about it. Amazing Africa, the beautiful people we met, it’s unique animals and scenery were beyond my expectations. You gave us all such a wonderful sense of it all. Patti and Susie are two very inspiring human beings with big hearts who went out of their way to make the whole tour an adventure we will never forget!

I left Australia on 29th of December, thinking I was going on a holiday to Central Africa...I cant explain how amazing it was being 4 metres from a gorilla family, or being embraced by entire communities of people, who sing and dance for us.
I never thought I’d be in the centre of the great migration, with millions of wildebeest and zebra, or having elephants, giraffes, zebras or lions strolling past our car. I came back to Australia on 20 Jan 2020 a different person for my experience, with newly forged beautiful connections with my travel sisters, and memories that will shape decisions I make for the rest of my life.

Thank you so very much Susie and Patti xx

LITTLE AFRICA TOUR COMPANY

Don’t be fooled by the title - this small, local company is BIG in many ways, from the initial contact through sending out detailed information about every step of the journey, from vaccinations to visas to the end result.  There was no detail left out, but if there were any queries, they were quickly and efficiently answered.

Mind you, we weren’t told EVERYTHING! Patti and Susie had a few surprises along the way, all of them pleasant, from the goody-bag to the fabulous dance show, to the unusual & excellent eateries, not to mention the accommodation.

The organisation of the itinerary was second-to-none, and if there were any hitches, they were totally out of their control. From reliable drivers (& vehicles) to expert advice, based on their own experience and research, nothing was too much trouble.

There were too many highlights to mention, and our gorilla ‘trek’ was one of them - it was a 10-15-minute ‘tramp’ through the impenetrable undergrowth, (compared to their experience of 7-8 hours!) “Call that a trek?” they said!! Needless to say, we may not live that down! The rest of the wildlife was equally amazing, but the warm welcomes we were treated to in the 2 villages and schools we visited were really special.

An absolutely fabulous & memorable trip - I thoroughly recommend Susie and Patti and this company for its personal touch, conviviality, professionalism and efficiency.

🦁What can I say about our trip that hasn’t been said already. Travelling with Little Africa Tour Company was an experience that truly touched my heart and will stay with me forever. Never in my life have I received such heartfelt welcomes from strangers and smiles so big from both children and adults that could light up the sky. People opening their humble mud brick homes and hearts and their willingness to share what little food they had with us at every stop. The kindness we received truly reduced me to tears.

The animals we witnessed on safari were just magical, someone recently asked if I’d visited a big zoo - yes a 30, 000 km2 one!! On many occasions it was too hard to accept what my eyes were seeing. You cannot truly describe witnessing the movements of some 2 million wildebeest as they go stampeding by. The creatures who were just a few feet away were so close I truly believe God gave all the good looking animals to Africa.

I would like to thank our hosts - Susie and Patti, they are the most kind, caring and absolutely hilarious humans. We were so blessed to be sharing our time with them and their experience and knowledge was so valuable. We started out as strangers and quickly became family. I admire them for their strength and commitment. I highly recommend a trip to Africa with this tour company to anyone.

No I wasn’t scared and yes I felt extremely safe AT ALL TIMES!
